Describes seventh mission, chemical plant, near Cologne, Germany, 17 October 1944, and bombing marshalling yards instead. Comments on strategic importance of Cologne which supplied German front line and on Pathfinder Forces (PFF) bombing through cloud by radar. [10:00-15:00] Seventh mission continued. Describes eighth mission, marshalling yards, Mainz, Germany: flak, fighter escort and bombing results. [15:00-20:00] Eighth mission continued. Comments that their rank was increased when flying in combat to ensure better treatment if captured.
