Description
Photocopies of documents including an aerial view of Station no. 118, Wendling; orders for aircrews, 28 January 1945 and special orders, 15 April 1945 and movement orders, 27 April 1945. Printed accounts of missions to Dornier aircraft works at Frederichshafen, Germany, March 1944: Cyril Jolly, 'The Blackest Day at Wendling Air Base' and 'Wendling Liberators and the Battle of Gotha'. Printed recollections by Denis Duffield of his friendship with an American serviceman. Copies of information on a mid-air collision, 25 May 1944, located between Skeyton and Buxton-Lamas, and the return visit of one survivor, Harold Hurscroft, August 1977. Also contains, photocopy of a photograph of school children from West Lynn Primary School at Wendling, which appeared in a newspaper appealing for information, 1944 (some children are identified); map of Wendling airbase; Distinguished Unit Citation and copy of a printed memoir of the crash of B-24 'P-Bar', by Capt.
