Comments on aborted flight, 19 January [1945] to recover aeroplanes from Carnaby, 'Spotted Goose' aircraft and its purpose (painted to be easily visible in poor light). [05.00-10.00] Comments on arrival of Russ Uhlman, new co-pilot, his German background, and employment in radio broadcasts to Germany. Technical comparison of B-17 and B-24 aeroplanes, mentioning physical energy needed to control a bomber.
