Unnamed male, possible surname of Barney, recalls his experiences as a groundsman at various American airbases in Norfolk during the Second World War. The speaker comments on quality of the previous recording. Describes his upbringing in a house at a railway crossing and anecdote about American servicemen walking back to base along the railway line to avoid military police. Describes military police and incident about them waiting on the railway line to catch American servicemen. Describes his house. House continued. Anecdote about an American officer waiting on the line for a whistlestop [where the train stops on the line, as in the United States] instead of going to the station platform. Describes scare at Buckenham aerodrome when they feared German paratroopers would sabotage American airbases. Continues about the scare. Scare continued. Describes servicemen waiting to go out on a mission. Comments on incident: German fighters followed American aeroplanes back to base and shot them on the runways.
