Description
Various documents relating to the Smith's wartime service including mission notes, memoirs and photographs. Photographs showing Robert 'Bob' A. Peter's crew; aircraft, including the B-24 'Southern Comfort'; crews (identified individuals are Claude Piatt, John Thomas, Richard E. Smith, Bob Peter, John Gray, George O'Connell, Jack Gross, Vincent Meehan, Albert Ellis, Johnny McCamey, Bill Kremer, Bud Schutte, Knight McKesson, [?] Nalbone and Dick Maurer). Also contains an account of Smith's wartime career, including a copy of his manuscript war diary (with typescript) and copy of a Certificate of Valor, 25 April 1945.
